  • Pricing and Discounts
    1.5 Hour Public Tours are priced at $30 per person with discounts available for active military personnel, veterans, first responders, students, and seniors. Discounts: Veteran | Military | First Responders: 10% off Seniors (65+): 10% off Students aged 6-18 i.e. elementary, middle, and high school students: 10% off Children under 5: Free Private Tour prices: 1-2 people: $190 3-4 people: $250 5-6 people: $280 Groups over 6: Please e-mail with information on your group to receive a quote.
  • Hours of Operation
    Public Tours (1.5 hours): During the spring, summer, and fall, we will be doing daily tours. Most tours will take place at 10:30 am and 1 pm. Please check online and see if the date and time is available. We encourage advance booking to ensure your spot. All tours meet at the Visitor Center at 221 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314 Private Tours (2 hours): Private tours can booked outside of public tour times either early in the morning or after 3 p.m. If your group is large enough, you can request to reserve a public tour time.   • Where to Meet
    All tours meet at the Alexandria Visitor Center at 221 King St. unless otherwise coordinated. The Visitor Center has restrooms on the ground level floor. On the main level is a gift shop, additional travel information, water and a place to sit down.
  • School Groups, Corporate Events and Organizations
    We work with school groups to build an excellent educational experience. Alexandria is the perfect classroom to learn American history from the colonial period to the modern day. For corporate retreats, special events, and other organizations, our goal is to customize our tours to the needs of your group. A guided tour provides a fantastic opportunity for team bonding. We also strive to show examples of leadership from George Washington and other Alexandrians. As a result, our guided tours provide outstanding professional lessons that will help any company or organization.   • Gratuity
    If you feel the tour was good, a gratuity is always appreciated for a job well done. They can be given in person, through the online booking platform, or Venmo: @tim_the_tour_guide
  • Refund | Cancellation Policy
    Cancellation and refund is good up to 24 hours prior to the tour. The only exception is if the weather is too severe and conditions are unsafe for the tour.
  • Inclement Weather
    If the weather is too severe, then there are three options: Reschedule Apply store credit for the future Refund
  • Wheelchair Accessibility?
    Our tours are mostly flat and on brick sidewalks. There is accessibility without needing to take stairs. On occasion, the bricks will be loose and uneven.
  • Parking around Old Town
    There is plenty of parking in the area with a lot under Market Square. Parking details are available on the city website: https://www.alexandriava.gov/parking/parking-in-old-town-alexandria
  • What to bring?
    Bring a camera and comfortable walking shoes. There is water at the Visitor Center and a bathroom on the bottom floor. Next to the Visitor Center on N. Fairfax Street is a coffee shop to grab a coffee or bottled water for the stroll.
