Becoming a guide with Alexandria History Tours starts with experiencing the tour yourself. We ask all prospective guides to sign up and join a tour to understand our approach, standards, and what sets us apart.
If you are interested in joining the team, please reach out before or after your tour.
We maintain high expectations for our guides. Training is thorough for everyone, regardless of prior experience. For those new to guiding, the process is extensive. Even experienced guides should expect a structured and detailed training period.
Depending on your background, training typically ranges from three months to one year. Our goal is to develop guides who are true subject matter experts and who have a genuine passion for Alexandria’s history.
